Plein Air 2010

The Annual Plein Air Exhibit and Sale at the Ventura County Maritime Museum will open June 3 and continue through July 29, 2010.

See maritime views of Southern California painted by artists working outdoors and on site in the tradition of the 19th century French Impressionists.

The Ventura County Maritime Museum announces the winners of the competitive annual PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL & EXHIBIT.

Dorothy Orr, Santa Paula painter and Ventura College professor, judged and awarded the following prizes to:

First Prize: Alan Garber, “Grey Morning, Point Fermín” (Castaic artist)

Second Prize: A. David Ainsley, “San Elijo Lagoon—Early Evening,” (Encinitas artist)

Third Prize: Sylvia Sailor, “My Ventura County,” (Ventura artist)

Honorable Mention: Marian Fortunati, “Mustard Hills” (Tarzana artist)

Honorable Mention: Georgia Scarlott, “Looking Down,” (Ventura artist)

Honorable Mention: Sally Miller, “Heading Home,” (Ventura artist)

Honorable Mention: Teresa Griffen, “Fishing Family” (Camarillo artist)
